Morning Metrics: Your Daily Dashboard Check
The first 10 minutes of every marketing day: which numbers to check, what they mean, and when to act.
Morning Metrics: Your Daily Dashboard Check
Before creating a single piece of content or spending a cent on ads, spend your first 10 minutes understanding what happened yesterday. Data tells you where to focus your energy today.
Your 5-Number Morning Routine
| Metric | Where to check | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Sessions / users | GA4 → Home | Unusual drop or spike vs yesterday |
| Top traffic source | GA4 → Acquisition | Which channel drove the most visits |
| Conversions / goals | GA4 → Conversions | Did yesterday hit your daily target? |
| Social reach | Meta Business Suite / dashboard | Reach and engagement on last post |
| Ad spend vs. results | Ads Manager | Any ad overspending or underperforming? |
The 3-Tier Response System
- Green (normal range) → proceed with planned tasks
- Yellow (±20% from average) → note it, monitor during the day
- Red (±50% or more) → investigate before anything else
Build Your Personal Baseline
Track your 7-day average for each metric in a simple spreadsheet. Without a baseline, you cannot know what "normal" looks like. After 30 days, you will be able to spot anomalies in seconds.
Rule: Never skip the morning check, even on slow days. The days you think nothing is happening are often the days something is quietly breaking.
